The eFX made an exciting debut at the FDIC event, in April, where it was an honor for Demers Ambulances and the DBCM family to showcase this groundbreaking vehicle to a diverse audience of industry professionals.
The electric ambulance generated significant interest and drew a large crowd, even among attendees familiar with the DBCM brands. Several services expressed keen interest in the model and recognized its potential.
What truly set the eFX apart was its exceptional interior design. Visitors were particularly impressed by the ergonomic seating and advanced safety features, such as the four-point seatbelt system. “The integration of rotating drawers and seats truly captured everyone’s attention,” remarked Yannick Tassé, Project Manager in the Strategy and Innovation team responsible for the concept. For him, the enthusiastic response from the public was a genuine “breath of fresh air.” “Seeing the appreciation through the eyes of the attendees affirmed our significant achievements. It was a moment to pause and relish this small triumph,” he reflected.
The thoughtful design elements, like the strip lighting to minimize shadows and customizable ambient options were also greatly appreciated.
Additionally, the eFX’s unique features, including the large electric window and enhanced HVAC system, piqued participants’ curiosity, who recognized Demers’ commitment to enhancing the ambulance experience for both patients and paramedics.
Small details like the flip step on the side door and the kneeling feature, designed for ease of patient access, was also well-received.
According to the new ambassador of this product, formerly the Ontario RSM, Fred Laurin, one of the most notable aspects of the eFX was its focus on paramedic comfort and functionality. “As a former medic myself, I was particularly excited to showcase a vehicle that reflects our dedication to serving the needs of paramedics. The positive feedback and enthusiasm from fellow medics underscored the importance of our mission to design ambulances by and for paramedics”, mentioned Mr. Laurin, who also did multiple walkaround presentations during the event.
With over 26,000 attendees at FDIC, the event provided an invaluable platform to connect with industry leaders and enthusiasts. As one of the few ambulances manufacturers present, Demers was proud to share its passion for innovation in emergency medical vehicles.
